One Day Stakeholders’ Consultation and Panel Discussion on Law and Medicine
11 Apr 2026 - 11 Apr 2026
Jodhpur, India
About Event
The recent advancements in the field of medical science, biotechnology, digital health
technologies and biomedical research have transformed the healthcare systems across the
globe. These advancements have led to the emergence of complex legal , ethical and regulatory
issues in context of patient rights, clinical research governance and regulation, medical
negligence and liability, data protection and privacy concerns, intellectual property in
healthcare innovations, claims relating to consumer protection, as well as emerging
technologies such as artificial intelligence in diagnosis and medicine.
While India’s healthcare infrastructure is rapidly advancing through the expansion of medical
research, digital health initiatives, clinical trials and public health interventions, it is
noteworthy how the legal framework governing medical practice and biomedical research is
evolving through various statutes, regulatory guidelines and judicial decisions. An effective
framework for such regulation and effective governance necessitates meaningful engagement
between legal scholars, medical professionals, regulators, policy makers and researchers.
Recognising the need for such interdisciplinary dialogue, All India Institute of Medical
Sciences, Jodhpur, in collaboration with National Law University, Jodhpur, are jointly
organising One Day Stakeholders’ Consultation and Panel Discussion on Law and
Medicine on 11th April, 2026. The consultation aims to create a platform where stakeholders
from legal, medical and technological domains can deliberate on legal challenges in healthcare
sector and biomedical research.
