It is a 5-day Certificate Programme on the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) in physical mode, organized by the Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA), Noida. The National Health Resource Centre (NHRC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, has come up with its quality standards known as Standards for Public Health Facilities with effect from 2013. The standards apply to District Hospitals, Community Health Centre (CHC), Primary Health Centre (PHC), Subdistrict Health Centre (SHC), Urban Health Centre (UHC), and Urban PHCs.Additionally, there are LaQshya, MusQan, and SUMAN standards.

Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) is the renowned and largest professional body of Hospital Administrators. It has been at the forefront of training healthcare providers for Quality Management Systems in Indian healthcare through its various capacity-building programmes. AHA launched the certificate programme in "National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) - For Public Health Facilities" in 2018. The programme is focused on upgrading the knowledge of the quality practitioners so that they lead or assist any healthcare quality assurance project related to a public healthcare facility.

The course has a didactic learning methodology and case-based learning sessions continuously guided by qualified experts on NQAS standards, followed by programme-end assessment of candidates for certification purposes. There are no written assignments for submission in this programme. Through the course content and hands-on training sessions, participants will acquire the essential knowledge and skills to manage the quality needs of a healthcare organisation.
