I am very happy to welcome you to Temple City of South Tamilnadu in Madurai for 30th Annual Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology Conference - IASGCON 2020. Last time it was held here in 1997. It is a great privilege that the Conference is being organized by the Department of Gastroenterology & G.I. Oncology Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai and jointly organised by Indian Medical Association of Madurai Meenakshi Branch,

The Velammal Medical College Hospital, and Research Institute, Madurai and The Gut Club of Madurai. This Conference is being held at South Tamilnadu premier medical Institute. The field of Surgical Gastroenterology and G.I. Oncology has been grown and already sub-specialties such as Hepato – Pancreato - Biliary, Colorectal, and Liver Transplant are being recognised.

The Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology provides a platform for young surgeons to present their work and also listen to senior member’s presentation and show their work on various surgery and procedures. This provides an opportunity to interact with the eminent faculties.

I am confident that the Meenkashi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Dept. of Surgical Gastroenterology & G.I. Oncology, will make the Conference a Grand Success !
