Dear Seniors, Colleagues and Friends,

We are pleased to invite you to 17th Annual Conference of Hernia Society of India HSICON2023 “at HYDERABAD – City of Nizams, Deccani Cuisine and Pearls”, Aug 31st to Sept 2nd 2023.

Hernia is one of the commonest surgical problem and science of treating it is still evolving. Trends have evolved over time from Open to Minimal access & Robotic repairs.

Still there is always an ongoing discussion in various surgical forums on the Ideal procedure, Ideal plane and Ideal Mesh.

In Herniology It is important that we work together, discuss the scientific research and share our knowledge and experiences to further strengthen the science. Therefore the theme of the conference is aptly decided as
–“ Hernia simplified Repair to Reconstruction”

The scientific Committee is working hard to be able to give a clear take home message for the solution in different hernia scenarios at present. This being an Era of Evidence based Medicine and Lot of scientific meetings aiming to impart adequate knowledge, Techniques and Experiences from Stalwarts, Seniors and the young brigade. Therefore it becomes useful to keep attending scientific programmes to keep abreast the latest scientific developments.

As seeing is believing and each surgeon has a specific trick up their sleeves to accomplish the surgery well, We are having live demonstration of surgeries on all the three days to pickup some important skill points from the experts. It is our pleasure to extend the Hyderabadi Hospitality and allow all of you to interact with Fellow Surgeons in a Informal way in the evenings.

Dear Friends,

It gives me great pleasure in inviting you to the 17th National Congress of the Hernia Society of India HSICON2023 to be held in Hyderabad from August 31st to September 2nd, 2023.
HSI is a premier surgical association and is the member society representing India in the Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS).

HSI has been regularly conducting scientific events over the past several years. In this year’s Annual Congress there will be live open as well as laparoscopic hernia surgeries demonstrated by experts on all three days. The scientific program will have several innovative sessions including lectures from national and international faculty, panel discussions, debates and case capsules. Dedicated free paper and video sessions will be an opportunity for residents and young surgeons to present interesting cases.

The Organising Chairman Dr Lakshmi Kona is an experienced organiser. She and her team are committed to making this a memorable event. The Executive Committee of HSI and I look forward to seeing and welcoming you at HSICON2023, Hyderabad on August 31st.
