Healthcare would be defined as Pre and Post COVID, at least for some distant time to come. In a way COVID provided big jolt to developing as well as developed nations. The well-established norms in terms of number of beds, doctors, nurses and other resources per unit of population were found to be misplaced. Global understanding was found to be severely inadequate in respect of the ART and SCIENCE of Medicine. The impact from COVID has forced us to look beyond our fraternity and study some of the best practices from other sectors so as to manage our current (meagre) resources to maximize the outcomes; be these clinical or managerial. While need for advanced and predictive medical technology continues to be in focus, the emphasis on manpower got all the more attention as we realized that healthcare providers need to move extra mile in terms of patient centricity, communication and empathy. There is also renewed need to bring synergy between hospitals on one hand and Equipment manufacturers, Pharma industry and even IT industry and work together for wellbeing of community at large and usher to new era of Holistic Care covering; promotive, predictive, preventive and curative healthcare needs of global population.
