Guwahati being the business center for 7 states of India Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Manipur (7 sisters) can play a major role in doing business in 7 states of India. The Government of India is putting a special focus on the country’s northeast region to boost the confidence of stakeholders, both national and international, in the potential of the seven states. The northeastern region, viewed as the launchpad for the Government’s Act East policy, has seen several programs to strengthen connectivity as well as to strengthen entrepreneurship. Additionally, the e-Symposia 2020 organized by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research & Analysis and IIM Shillong and inaugurated on June 5 discussed the means to develop the northeast as a business destination.
