At the very outset, I would like to pay homage to Professor Devendra D Patel – one of my ‘god sent’ messengers, who sadly left this world recently. He was the founding President, ‘god father’ & the guiding force to ABSI, since its inception.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than to warmly welcome you & your loved ones to the 10th annual Congress of the Association of Breast Surgeons of India (ABSICON 2022), which would be held at the Marriott Convention Centre in Hyderabad from 12 – 14 August 2022.

For the FIRST time ever, the Congress is being held in partnership with The Association of Breast Surgery (ABS), an organisation that represents the Breast Surgical fraternity in the United Kingdom. Prof. Chris Holcombe & Miss Leena Chagla, President & Vice President respectively of ABS along with several dear friends – Indian origin Breast Surgeons will be part of the UK delegation.

The Breast Imaging Society of India (BISI) led by its President, Dr. Bagyam Raghavan and an enthusiastic group of Breast Radiologists from across India would be actively supporting the Scientific Programme, thus underlining the importance of Multidisciplinary approach to the assessment of Breast disease.

As Founder Honorary Secretary of ABSI, I had the good fortune of organising the First landmark annual Congress – ABSICON 2012 at the Marriott, a 5 star hotel in Hyderabad overlooking the beautiful Hussain Sagar lake. Precisely 10 years later, I am delighted that the forthcoming 2022 Meeting is also being held in the same Hotel. This is well and truly an “intentional coincidence” that promises to bring back many a nostalgic memories.

In closing, on behalf of the Organising Committee, I can assure you of a scientific extravaganza & an ‘away from it all’ Fellowship, coupled with the best of “Hyderabadi’ hospitality, like never before!
